"He has size and strength along with outstanding character and work ethic that give him a high ceiling," said Burkey. "When not pitching, we plan to work him at third base. Hunter will fit nicely into our team and represent our college well."

Hunter chose Three Rivers over others because, "I felt like it was the best place for me to continue my future as a baseball player and hopefully move on to the next level," said Gautreaux.

"I think I will love it (Three Rivers) playing for Coach Burkey who knows a ton about the game and Coach Smith with his energy he brings. Both of their coaching styles suit what I like and will be great to play for."

Hunter was first noticed after attending PRO-DAY's Showcase in Pine Bluff (AR) after his sophomore season.

"PRO-DAY Baseball is a great program and has gotten me to the next level, " said Gautreaux. "The staff is the best you will get anywhere and they teach you about life and top notch fundamentals of the game. This program is the best!

"I like to thank PRO-DAY for helping me continue my future," said Gautreaux. "I wouldn't be where I am without their help in putting me out to coaches."

"PRO-DAY Baseball is excited for Hunter Gautreaux and we look forward to following his progress at the next level," said PRO-DAY Founder Jeff Gross.

"Hunter is a very hard worker who is always wanting to improve his skills," added Gross. "He's an excellent student in the classroom, comes from a great family and we only wish him the very best in his future."

Hunter graduated 13th in his high school senior class (122 students) with an 3.9 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society.

He is the son of Paul and Cindy Gautreaux of Benton (AR).
