HAMBURG, AR — Hamburg High’s Steven Huff, has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Central Baptist College in Conway.
Huff made the PRO-DAY Fall Showcase Team circuit this past September, where he was seen by head college coaches, recruiting coordinators and professional scouts.
Those four college fall weekend stops included: Three Rivers CC, Ouachita Baptist University, Lyon College and University of Central Arkansas.
Huff drew interest along the way, but it was at PRO-DAY’s UCA Showcase, where CBC Coach Frank Lee saw him and placed him on his follow list.
“Steven did some good things at PRO-DAY,” said Bill Earnhart, long-time Major League Scout & National Scouting Director for PRO-DAY Baseball. “He was in the Low 80’s with a slider and showed bat speed at the plate.”
The pitcher/infielder/outfielder hit an impressive .466 his senior year going 27-58, with 14-runs scored, a home run and 12 RBI’s.
On the mound, Steven struck out 43 batters while walking 16 in 33 innings. He ended with an 3.61 ERA.
“We wish Steven much success at the next level,” said Jeff Gross, CEO/Founder of PRO-DAY Baseball. “On the ball field, classroom and in life.”
